Biography
Most of you know: It’s not easy to create a new and
independent sound, because young bands are often tempted to
copy famous bands instead.
So, there are just a few bands who are doing a good job in
creating their own music, and further more: Realise it!!
NO MORE ENCORE is own of these bands. The four guys
realised their appropriative sound and convinced a bunch of
people with their punkrock songs.
And the know-how is pretty simple and nearly irresistible: quick drumbeats, catchy voices and
a distinctive basssound combined with an explosive and stirring liveshow!!! That’s what makes
NME characteristic!
After setting up in 2001 in Perchtoldsdorf/Vienna the band almost made an impact in
Austria!!! After playing a few gigs in Vienna, NO MORE ENCORE decided to join Emergenza –
worldwide biggest bandcontest – and it turned out to be a good decision, because NME won
the final in Austria, even though it was just the 8th gig of them!! A few days later they played
another bandcontest, called Younxter and finished second. It proved that this was just the
beginning and never an exception!!
The first record followed in 2003, as well as many shows i.a. the popular Taubertal Festival
(GER) infront of 9.000 people, in the Arena/Vienna, at the FatMusic Festival (Passau/03), at
the Donauinselfest 2003 (biggest open air festival in Euurope) and many more.
Also mentionable are supporting shows for bands like: AVRIL LAVIGNE, NERF HERDER,
TERRORGRUPPE, HORACE PINKER, 3 FEET SMALLER, THE WOHLSTANDSKINDER a.s.o.
NME started their first headlining tour through Germany, Belgium and Italy in July 2004. As
expected, some radio-stations and lokal tv-shows got curious and invited the guys from NME
to their shows.
Along the way a few songs were released on diverse punrock-compilations.
Supporting Lagwagon, one of the most famous and legendary punk bands ever, has been the
ultimative christmas highlight. Their second full lengh album named "For Those Times To Feel
Alive" was released at the first of april 2006. |
