Side Effect make music, they’re sweating thereby and they’re focused on ROCK MUSIC. ROCK, capitalized. In 2006, after 10 years in the business (which is defintely a word they don’t like) they release a 6 track EP called „Business 2006“. Nomen est omen.

Time 2006/ Place Business 2006: They rock and roll as if there’s no tomorrow, and that’s what makes the new songs sound so fresh. The attention lies on straight riffs, quotating the big ones of the genre here and there, which are smashed into your face by frontman David Haering. Necessary to say: all that happens within a very raw, direct production, there’s no catalyst – what they play is what you get. Don’t wait, don’t talk, don’t tune – just do it! The 4 guys know what they are doing, the brain isn’t shut down and 2006 is indeed a fantastic breeding ground for things to come.
Once upon a time there were 4 young lads in and around Vienna, Austria, who played youth-driven punk-rock, in the sense of mid-90s skatepunk/melodycore. Times have changed and it’s amazing how they drew attention in JAPAN, got featured on the CD-sampler of german music mag „VISIONS“, and even the austrian Amadeus-Award nomination is something you can tell your grandchildern..... But could it be that was it? The quartet negates and is ready to step forward.
„Business 2006“ is not the big hit, but it’s definitely the appetizer for it...
SIDE EFFECT are: David Haering (voc, guit) Armand Colard (guit) Till Niederhammer (bass) Clemens Niederhammer (drums) |
