Bleu, a trio featuring Lorenz Raab (tp, flgh), Ali Angerer (tuba), and Rainer Deixler (dr. perc) are performing as intensive painters of landscapes. On their journey they perform dances in the desert, dive into deep valleys, flying up from the lowlands, to meet in wide and narrow drawn circles near the sun. Bleu is a record full of lyrical balance and warmth. In some way the music of Bleu is meditative, but not boring. Listening more closely you understand that Raab, Angerer and Deixler's way of handling their interpretations, variations, improvisations, leaves enough room for a very personal access to their Opus. And if you feel like it, you can find that access too. aus [Jazz Zeit - October 2002]
